About

Hi! My name is Kerry Allman and I am the Internet Strategist for the Diocese of Olympia, the Episcopal Church in Western Washington. My goal is to use this blog as a tool and resource for faith communities in expanding their presence in cyberspace. For the church to grow and learn, utilizing the technology of the Internet to evangelize and keep in touch with the mission field is essential. There are generations of people today who view the Internet as their community and connection to others. The church needs to tap into this paradigm and offer itself to people as a place where community and authenticity can be found, a safe place to explore a life of grace.

By exploring the different tools and how they can help build community, the exciting potential emerges to embrace a different model of what it means to be a church seeking to reveal Christ to the world. As people work to stay more connected online, they can also stay connected to their church community. I believe it is important for each church to work towards these social networking options, to reach out to these “networked” generations and build a sense of community. God knows no boundaries and neither should we!
